One of the really cool ways to explore cooking, especially when and if you are trying to switch up your diet, is to explore global flavor profiles. In this group we’ll take a single plant-based ingredient as your main ingredient (we’ll provide some suggestions here) and then we’ll help you take it around the world.
We’ll explore different cooking techniques, different flavor components, spices and ingredient blends, that might surprise your palette. At the very least we’ll expand your repertoire. We might even assign a few field trips in this group for you to go out and dine a local restaurant (when it’s safe to do so of course) to experience a new global cuisine that you might not have tried before, and then help you go home and recreate the dish you liked the most.
Join other Globetrotters in this group today and switch up your world view.

Swich is 100% plant-based. We don’t subscribe to any diet because we don’t believe in them. We believe in cooking whole foods, mostly plant-based, utilizing proper cooking techniques and preparation methods. We meet people where they are at who are open and motivated to increasing the amount of plant-based foods in their diet (for some that might mean 100%, for others it might be 1 day a week or even one new plant-based side a week). We don’t, however, use any non-plant-based ingredients in any of our recipes or instructional materials.
Our focus with Swich is teaching people basic cooking methods and techniques behind successful cooking which are applicable to any diet, such as how to cut properly, use a pot and pan, apply heat, develop flavor, and use basic cooking techniques like sautéing, steaming, roasting, stir-frying, sweating, etc. We use vegetables to teach these things, making it accessible to any preferred diet and/or eating preferences.
Because it’s the wrong way to learn. Recipes are great, but even if it’s the best recipe in the world, by the very best chef in the galaxy, if you don’t know how to execute it, success will always be hit and miss.
At Swich, you will begin a new cooking journey—one which begins with you learning a few things that will help you gain a little confidence in the kitchen. We want cooking to be fun, not a chore. And in order to achieve that blissful state, we feel most people around the world need a little ‘up-skilling’. We also feel that people need to reframe the way they think about food. They need to stop listening to bad dietary advice, wake up their cooking brains, and start cooking whole foods again, with an emphasis on more plant-based foods. Chefs do not think like most home cooks. They can view an ingredient with a different lens, figure out the most appropriate cooking technique, apply some skillful flavor development techniques, and create on the fly. As you advance through your Swich experience, this is our goal. And we promise, while it will take some dedication and some of your time, we are committed to helping you become the cook you want to be.
Consider Swich your cooking concierge. We will figure out what you need to learn to achieve your goals, and then we’ll help you get there.
