Now is the time for us all to take charge of our own health, to be proactive and get in front of health concerns that affect so many. It’s time to switch things up, to take the fear out of cooking, to feel better, maybe even awesome.
We started Swich to inspire a global health movement, and teach the world how to cook with confidence because we know that cooking changes lives and improves health.
This may be a crazy idea, but here it is—our Big Promise:
We will provide basic health-supportive and plant-forward cooking education for every person on the planet that wants to take control of their health and well-being through food and cooking. And we’ll do it for free.
Our goal is to teach 100 million people by 2023. We hope you’re one of them : ).
This simple, yet audacious idea—teach the world to cook for health—became our obsession. And now our mission.

Joe & Dawn
Swich Co-Founders
Joe and Dawn founded Rouxbe (which now powers Swich) back in 2005. Their vision was to leverage digital media and online delivery to provide the highest quality, and most accessible, cooking education for everyone on the planet. The goal: help people improve their lives by getting them back in the kitchen cooking healthier whole foods confidently.
Over the course of their first 8 years, Rouxbe invested over $8 million dollars capturing a full professional cooking skill curriculum in bite-sized, close-up, high-definition videos that users could stream over the Internet on any device.
By 2008, they had launched the world’s first-ever online cooking school that today has taught over 600,000 home and pro students across 180 countries.
By 2012, they became the first education company in the world to provide Professional Cook and Plant-Based certification courses to future culinarians gaining global recognition from both the American Chef Federation (ACF) and the World Association of Chefs (WACs).
By 2014, they kicked off their enterprise class training platform that now powers cook training at over 2,300 hotels and food service organizations across the globe, in five languages.
In 2015, they launched their Culinary Wellness division that has provided health-supportive cooking education to tens of thousands of people looking to improve their health and wellness through food and cooking. Swich marks the next chapter for the Culinary Wellness division but combines a more personalized approach to education, with their obsession to transform global health through better cooking. The results from their Culinary Wellness yielded powerful results
